Thank You Facebook Song by Deborah Torres Patel

The “Thank You FB Song” Facebook page has just been launched.  It is a page dedicated to sharing the importance of relationships and being grateful for the modern social media tools that allow us to connect and stay connected to our family and friends all over the world. The “Thank You Facebook” music video is available at YouTube.

In an interview the writer of The Facebook Song, Deborah Torres Patel, said: “The song literally sang itself into my head in the shower January 2011. It’s been a labor of love for all of us bringing this project to completion with mostly everyone on the production volunteering their time. Special thanks to my music writing partner Gianluca Verrengia. Without him – we would have never produced this.” Deborah also expressed her gratitude to the music video editor, Soken Sai, and the music video producer, Marjean Holden.

Deborah Torres Patel began singing, dancing and acting professionally at age 4 and shared the stage with celebrities like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, Kool & the Gang, the legendary Platters, and the late Sammy Davis Jr. & Milton Berle. Today she lives in Singapore with her family and is one of the world’s leading Voice & Communication Experts.

Personal Note :

It is true my life has changed after I joined Facebook in 2008, I began to build a fan base, be seen and heard more often. The happiest moment is always when I am about to speak in a seminar and often people come up to me and greet me as if they are my friends. I clearly do not remember them at all, but they will say “I am on your FACEBOOK!” :)

I reunite with old classmates of 30 years through Facebook, connect with more than 50 nationalities, never forget my friends’ birthdays and even accepted a wedding invitation on facebook. It really changed the way how we communicate and connect!

People blessin’ me

Night and day – any way

Got friends supportin’ me

Show Photos of who we know

and what makes us  happy

I’m Taggin’ you – You’re Taggin’ me

And we’re makin’ history – yeah…

Building your Community on Social Media

There are generally 3 main types of communities within your social media network

Thought leaders of your industry are the influencers of your brand.

They set the tone and premise of conversation.

Your peers may be your competitors or strategic partners in the business.

Their presence and participation will help to build a more comprehensive understanding of your brand.

Your customers will eventually form your brand community.

Engage them qualitative by inviting them to join your web portal in a social network environment similar to platforms like Facebook or Myspace.

Consequently, the essence of developing different communities is to draw them back to your brand and become your advocate in the long run.

6 ways to elevate your thought leadership status on social media

Andrew Chow is a Thought Leader on Social Media Strategy, DIY Public Relations and Life Coaching

Thought leader is business jargon for an entity that is recognized for having innovative ideas.

The term was coined in 1994, by Joel Kurtzman, editor-in-chief of the Booz, Allen & Hamilton magazine, Strategy & Business. “Thought leader” was used to designate interview subjects for that magazine who had business ideas that merited attention

How to leverage on social media to elevate youur thought leadership status?

1.      Streamline Your Content. My forte is in Brand Communications, Social Media Strategy, Public Relations, Personal Branding and Creativity. I make sure I choose sites which can position myself best in respective domains. Keywords must be planned carefully to ensure your come on top within your competition. Prepare a posting schedule to avoid over-crowding of information within a short time.

2.      Select Your platforms. Choose platforms for article directories with good page ranking and Alexa. If you have many presentation on different topics of your forte, Slideshare is a great platform. Twitter is a must for anyone with great inspiration to share every time.

3.      Share Your Knowledge. My own experience is the best user-generated content I can put up to enrich accelerated learning among my followers and peers. Knowledge is everywhere, why not present them your own way to establish yourself as a though leader? Conduct quality survey regular to keep abreast of latest trend within your market.

4.      Simplify Your Conversation. Gone are the days where we engage in length and senseless discussion on forums. Use Twitter and learn to comment within 140 characters. We need to think, speak and listen “140″ in social media age. Typically, if you cannot think of saying your Personal Mission Statement in 7 words, you lack a strong personal branding online.

5.      Sell Your Expertise. 80% of our forte would be knowledge and 20% would be our expertise. Make others want your expertise after you have shared your knowledge. Customize the knowledge to their problem with unique solution is always a sure way to sell. Selling your expertise through electronic newsletter is acceptable as long as it happens once every 5 times.

6.      Support Your Community. Be available in as many places as you can initially. You will not know where and who your potential customers will come from. Create a portal of sort to gather them in one place so that you can do targeted customer engagement in the future. A lot of marketers have no problem generating interest, but sustaining interest is another ball game altogether.

Art of Life : Knowing which secret to share – Going After Wikileaks

WikiLeaks’ Twitter page is seen on a computer screen in Singapore, Sunday, Jan-9, 2011.

A U.S. court has ordered Twitter to hand over details of the accounts of WikiLeaks and several of their supporters as part of a criminal investigation into the release of hundreds of thousands of confidential documents.

The December 14 subpoena obtained by the U.S. Department of Justice and published by online magazine Salon.com on January 7, 2011 said the records sought from the micro-blogging website were “relevant to an ongoing criminal investigation.”
